The Buffalo River
Stewardship Foundation
Working With Farmers for a Better Tomorrow
Our primary mission is protecting the water
quality of the Buffalo River. We offer conservation
easements, in addition to working with area agencies
on other conservation projects.
Projects include assisting with the
construction of fencing that will keep cattle out of creeks,
contributing to stream bank revetment programs, and an "Adopt-a-Highway" cleanup program.
Our expanded mission for 1998 includes recreation, including contributions
to the completion of the Buffalo River Trail. We are considering purchasing
two parcels of property needed for the completion of the trail.
We maintain relationships with area agencies to work directly
with watershed councils.
Our new organization does not rely
on membership dues, although we're putting together a
"Friends of the Buffalo" program for people who would like
to contribute to the Foundation.
