    Now you can afford to have your very own hand-held stainer for $10 each, shipped 12 per carton.
    Each one-piece stainer module has the following features:
  • Full complement of 12 stain chambers for H&E staining, each can hold 2 standard 1x3 inch (or 25x75mm) slides back-to-back.
  • The stainer measures 3 inches by 4 inches and is 2-1/2 inches tall.
  • Two or more stainers can be ganged together side-by-side or front-to-back to make any desired array in multiples of 12 chambers.
  • The water-tight, hinged lids can seal the contents, to prevent evaporation or contamination.
  • The volume of fluid of each chamber is 10 mls; sufficient to cover the entire active area of the slide.
  • Stainer material is Polypropylene plastic.
  • Available in 6 pastel colors: Neutral, pale green, pink, pale blue, yellow and red.

Frequently Asked Questions

SIZE:

The primary concern was to keep the over-all size small. This dictated the size of each chamber.

SLIDE CAPACITY:

Each chamber holds two slides back-to-back making it easy to insert and remove them. If the chambers are made larger to take 4 or more slides, then a special tool would be needed to grasp the slides. We tried to keep it simple, and want to avoid the need for a tool. If greater capacity is needed, two or more stainers can be ganged together; each with a different color if desired.

CHAMBER DETAIL:

Each of the 12 chambers is 2-1/2 inches high. The 10 ml fluid level occupies approximately 2 inches within the chamber. When the slides are immersed the level will rise slightly, but the frosted ends of the slides will project above the top of the chamber so they can be easily grasped.

LIDS TO SEAL CHAMBERS:

The chambers are arranged in two rows of six. Each pair of chambers has its own double lid that seals each individual chamber. The lids are numbered 1 thru 12. There is a flexible connection between the lid and the chamber that can be opened and closed 100's of times.
