The 1973 Eldorado is the
widest car ever manufactured.
A 6-foot tall man can comfortably lay down in the back seat, if you
know what I mean. This chariot is from the halcyon days of yore,
before we started worrying about car weight, gas mileage, and so on.
It weighs in at well over a ton and a half and gets 4 to 7 MPG in the
city. (You can break 10MPG on the highway, if you drive attentively.)
It also runs only on high-test. But it does have a 3-gallon tank.
In 1973, they knew how to
build luxury.
The high beams automatically dim when an oncoming car's headlights
approach. The headlights stay on for 30 seconds after you exit, go
guide you to your door. Cruise control, A/C, electric everything, as
you would expect. Just THINK which way you want to go, and the
Cruisemobile takes you there. And eight cylinders of raw power means
this baby MOVES. (Well, okay, only seven cylinders actually work.)
